THE KISS OF DECEPTION
Book one. This book is about Princess Lia who runs away on her wedding day. She decides to stay in a small village to avoid being found. While there, she is met by two mysterious boys. She is unaware that one is an assassin sent to kill her and one is the prince she ran away from.
I truly enjoyed the way the world was described. There was a map in the beginning of the book which helped make the world more real. Since this is the first book to the series I felt as though there was too much time being spent on describing the settings, even though there was hardly any setting changes. Although, overall I did enjoy that amount of detail.
I also really loved Lia as the lead character. I thought she was intelligent and the author gave time for her growth. I thought she was innocent, and naive yet brilliant at the same time. She learned and grew from her experiences and that made her more real and more likeable.
I do feel the other two books were a little more to my liking, but this one was great. If you are in the mood for some fantasy adventure, give this a read.
